What claiming your CDL school profile gets you
CDL Schools USA lists commercial driver training schools across the United States, and students use it to compare schools near them before they ask for information. Every listing starts from public federal training provider records. Those records tell students where a school is registered, but they say very little about what it is like to train there. Claiming your school puts you in charge of that part.
Once your claim is verified you can describe the school in your own words and add your logo and up to three photos. You can keep your phone number, website, contact email and business hours current, and you can set out your tuition and any financing you offer. You can also list the amenities students will find, such as a practice yard or a classroom with simulators. If the listing shows the wrong address or a map pin in the wrong place, you can correct that too.
Some details are locked on purpose. Your school's legal name, its FMCSA registration status and its ELDT approval come from federal records, and nobody can edit them from the dashboard. A student who sees those details knows they were not written by the school.
When a student asks about your school, the enquiry appears in your owner dashboard with the name, phone number and email the student gave. You see the real contact details on the free plan, so you can ring or write back the same day while the student is still deciding.
How we check that you own the school
We do not approve a claim on a school name alone. There are two ways to prove it, and you choose when you claim.
- Business email. Use an email address on your school's own website domain. This is the fastest route, because a matching address is easy for us to check against the school's website.
- Documents. Upload a business licence, a utility bill or another document that shows the school and your connection to it. You can attach up to five files of 5 MB each and add a note to explain anything unusual. Our team reviews documents within 24 to 48 hours.
Only one owner account can hold a school at a time. If someone else already holds yours, see the last question below.
Before you start
- Find your school in the search box at the top of this page and note exactly how it is listed.
- Have a business email address ready, ideally one that matches your school website.
- If you do not have a matching email, gather one or two documents that show the school name and your role.
- Decide who will manage the profile. The person who claims it becomes the contact for student enquiries.
Questions school owners ask
- Does it cost anything to claim my school?
- No. Claiming a school and managing its basic profile is free.
- Who can claim a school?
- An owner or an authorised manager of the school. We ask for proof, either a business email address that matches your school website or documents such as a business licence or a utility bill, so nobody can take over a listing by typing its name.
- How long does verification take?
- Using a business email that matches your school website is the quickest route. If you upload documents instead, our team reviews them within 24 to 48 hours.
- Where do student enquiries go?
- When a student asks about your school on CDL Schools USA, the enquiry appears in your owner dashboard with the name, phone number and email the student gave, so you can follow up yourself.
- Can I change my school name or its FMCSA status?
- No. The legal name, the FMCSA registration status and the ELDT approval come from federal records, and the dashboard does not let anyone edit them. That is also why students can rely on them.
- My school is listed with the wrong address or map pin. What do I do?
- Claim the listing and correct the address and location in your dashboard. Listings begin with public federal training provider records, and addresses in those records are sometimes out of date.
- The listing says it is already claimed, but it is my school. What now?
- Email partners@cdlschoolsusa.com with your school name, the city and state, and how you can show that you run it. We will check the existing claim against yours.
