Utility Electrical Safety

What your employer must configure and supply

This course teaches utility electrical safety and arc-flash awareness — recognizing hazards, boundaries, PPE concepts, and stop-work triggers. The site-specific electrical safety program, arc-flash study values, and qualification/authorization belong to your employer. This course package is white-label and employer-configurable; make sure your employer has completed each of these before you rely on it for real electrical work:

• The employer electrical safety program contact responsible for the program.
• The applicable arc-flash study reference for the site/equipment.
• The applicable PPE matrix reference for the site/equipment.
• The minimum approach distance reference for the site/equipment.
• The energized-work policy that governs when energized work is permitted.
• The lockout/tagout reference for de-energizing procedures.
• The switching-order reference for switching and operating tasks.
• The communication method used for job briefings and field coordination.
• The incident-reporting contact for arc-flash and electrical incidents.
• Acknowledgment of the certificate boundary before assigning this course as satisfying any qualification or authorization duty.
