Before you use this refresher record
This course documents an annual refresher. Your employer or site operator must still confirm the records, procedures, and authorizations that control your actual work.
- Proof that you previously completed the applicable 24-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER initial training.
- Site-specific safety and health plan information for the location where you will work.
- Your assigned work role, exposure limits, supervision, medical surveillance, and emergency response level.
- Employer respiratory protection program requirements, fit testing, medical clearance, cartridge change schedules, and respirator limitations where applicable.
- PPE selection, inspection, donning, doffing, decontamination, and disposal procedures for the actual hazards at the site.
- Emergency communication, spill/release reporting, evacuation, decontamination, and incident command interface procedures.
- Any required hands-on demonstration, equipment-specific instruction, or employer verification before assignment.
If any of these items are missing, stop and ask for employer/site direction before accepting an assignment. Refresher completion alone is not a work authorization.
Completion documents 8-hour HAZWOPER annual refresher training for workers who previously completed applicable HAZWOPER initial training. This course does not provide initial 24-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and does not independently authorize site duties, PPE use, emergency response level, or hazardous waste operations assignment.
