Your employer’s reporting process

This course teaches the New York standard and how reporting works. The specific people, links and forms belong to your employer, so make sure you can find each of these before you finish:

  • Your employer’s current sexual harassment prevention policy and the notice that goes with it.
  • The complaint form, and where it is kept — though a report does not have to wait for paperwork.
  • At least two internal reporting routes, so you never have to report to the person the concern is about.
  • Where to send a question about the policy and get a timely answer.
  • What to do in an emergency, which is separate from ordinary policy reporting.

If your employer has not given you these, ask for them — that request is itself protected. New York State and federal forums are covered in Module 3 and remain available to you in addition to your employer’s process.

General annual interactive training on sexual harassment prevention for New York workplaces. This record documents completion of the training assignment. It is not legal advice, does not decide any individual complaint, and does not replace the employer’s own policy, complaint form, designated reporting contacts, question-response route or emergency instructions, which the employer must supply and keep current.
