Yes. Since February 7, 2022, FMCSA requires all new CDL applicants to complete Entry-Level Driver Training from a registered Training Provider. Theory instruction must be completed before scheduling behind-the-wheel training and skills test.
How do I check that a provider is on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry?
Search the provider on the FMCSA Training Provider Registry before you pay anyone, including us. ELDT theory only counts toward your CDL if it comes from a listed provider and your completion is reported to FMCSA, so a course from an unlisted provider leaves you twelve hours poorer with nothing your state DMV will accept. The registry is public and searchable, and any provider unwilling to tell you exactly how they appear on it has answered the question.
How long does ELDT theory take to complete?
